E-1063 PROGRAMMING AND OPERATION

            Chapter 6 Techniques in Programming

            Techniques for Faster Cycle Time

Increase exit and enter wheel SPEED SHIFT SPEED from advanced configuration. Care should be taken to insure that
front and rear of vehicles are coming out clean, when increasing these speeds. Level machine and arms pivoted inward
significantly effects cycle time and wash quality. See friction passes in this chapter.
Remove any unnecessary fill times, typical washes configures for speed will only have fill times for triple foam, and other
waxes. All others may have 00.0 fill times.
Confirm that all dwell and purge times are set to 00.0.

Use friction passes that turn chemical pump off – this allows faster rinse passes.
Use a tri-foam detergent instead of a tri-foam wax. When a detergent is uses it can be applied on the first pass instead of
after the friction passes. This helps with rinsing and reduces the number of passes.

Increase front speed to 100 for even numbered friction passes. This speed occurs after exit wheels are no longer in
contact with vehicle. This makes the machine rapid to home to start next pass.
If bay length is long applying wax and spot free through exit arches can improve throughput.
When speed is very important non-friction speeds can be increased to 120. Front speed of soap may be most likely for
              this setting.
Improving soap and triple foam fill times. If air is in chemical lines the soap/triple foam will start up strong and then
weaken, then return to strong. This will cause the user to increase the fill-time. Refer to check all chemical outputs and
remove air from chemical lines from Chapter 9 in Installation and Startup Manual. Turn fill times down after air removed
              from lines.
When using friction passes that turn chemical pump off, the soap manifold will only have water in it at the end of that
pass. Turning on the soap chemical pump for about last 10 inches of that friction pass will refill the manifold with
soap/water solution. This will improve fill time next time soap pods are used, often on next vehicle.

                Reducing Number of Site Photo-Eyes

Using enter door photo-eye to control all function as vehicles pulling into bay reduces site required photo-eyes.
The enter door photo-eye can control all three entrance operations and enter door control simultaneously. The
same is true of the exit door photo-eye. Onboard door controls required if controlling doors. The on/off
conditions and all delays can be configured via HMI.
