Chapter 6 Faults and Alarms
Fault Summaries
PUMP DRIVE FAULT
This fault occurs when the Pump Drive signals the carwash controller that it has faulted.
DRIVE COM FAULT
This fault occurs when there is an error communicating with any of the drives.
STUCK IN BAY
This alarm occurs when a vehicle has received a wash and does not leave the wash position.
BUTTERFLY JAM
This alarm occurs when the Butterfly is commanded to move and input X7 (B/F Prox) is not changing states
(alternating).
NO ENTRY
This alarm occurs when a vehicle has purchased a wash (a package is inserted into the Loader) and does not
enter the bay within 10 minutes. A vehicle is considered to enter the bay when the ON condition for the
ENTRANCE OPERATION is met.
TO TREADLE
This alarm occurs when a vehicle has pulled into the bay (a package is shifted from the LOADER to WASH) but
does not pull into the wash position. The alarm is triggered 2 minutes after all ENTRANCE OPERATIONS are
off without a vehicle getting into position.
PULL OFF
This alarm occurs when a vehicle leaves the bay during a wash cycle.
TIME OUT
This alarm occurs when at least one of the Outputs (NAMED 1 – 8) and (MISC 1 – 7) is on and the status of the
output pattern has not changed for over 10 minutes.
BREAKAWAY (Driver Side and Passenger Side)
This fault occurs when either arm is pushed away from the typical vertical position, and the machine could not
snap the arm back into place.
AUTO RESET KNUCKLE
If either arm is broken away from the vertical position, the machine will attempt to snap it back into position. The
machine will only do the Auto Reset of a breakaway if it is either at the HOME position or it is washing a vehicle.
If the arm breaks away while the machine is washing a vehicle, it will Auto Reset the knuckle and continue
washing the vehicle. If the arm breaks away a second time, it will Auto Reset but will not continue washing the
vehicle.
If the arm breaks away during Carriage travel, it will move the Carriage in the opposite direction before
attempting to snap the arms back into place. If the arm breaks away while attempting to butterfly OUT, it will
move the Carriage away from the vehicle before attempting to reset the knuckle. If the arm breaks away while
attempting to butterfly IN, it will immediately butterfly OUT before attempting to reset the knuckle.
