What do you study?
BTEC Business, Performing Arts
and Sport
How did you find the transition
from GCSE to Sixth Form?
It was a hard transition
(academically) but the teachers
are very supportive, they work
hard but also ensure you have
time for yourself. I discovered that
last year, the art of getting the
balance right. You’re not happy
because you are successful, but
happiness leads to success. BTECs
have been the right path for me,
I’m on track to get the UCAS
points I need for the future.
Why did you choose Seaford?
We chose Seaford because the
school looks at you as an individual
and how they can help you, it’s not
all about what grades you will get
to help the school in league tables.
I looked at other schools in Sussex
and I had a taster day at them, but
I just didn’t like the feel of them.
Both places felt very pressurised.
There is a lot of support at Seaford,
both academically and pastorally.
Seaford had the right feeling. If
you get stuck with your work, you
know that you can approach your
teacher and they’ll be happy to
help you. We do lots of leadership
and team activities at school
which will be helpful for the future.
There’s a good balance, I like it.

What do you study?
Computer Science, Biology and
Maths and an EPQ.
Tell us about your academic
subjects in the Sixth Form
In order to apply for Computer
Science at university, I changed
from Physics to Maths halfway
through Sixth Form, I studied two
years of Maths in one year. I got so
much support from the teachers
to make it happen, especially
Dr Pothecary, who didn’t just
teach me the theory but also the
foundations that underpinned it. I
have struggled with dyslexia and
stress, and the learning support
at Seaford has been fantastic and
given me the learning tools I’ve
needed to achieve what I have,
and be more creative.
What did you get from doing
an EPQ?
Doing an EPQ has made me
realise I can do university-level
research and gave me extra
confidence going into my exams.

What do you study?
I study Music, Music Tech and
Media.
Tell us about your time
at Seaford.
I joined Seaford in Year 5 and I
found my love of Music, Music
Tech and Media during my time
at the school. In Seaford’s Sixth
Form and lockdown, I set up
my business after I had success
posting content on social media.
I now have a big following of over
2.2 million followers on social
media and I have a growing and
successful business as a Social
Media Content Creator.
How did Seaford help you
achieve this success?
What I love about Seaford is you
can be what you want to be, I’m
very entrepreneurial and the
school supported me with time to
continue my business alongside
my studies. They’ve been amazing
and I was able to do both to
an extremely high level during
the Sixth Form. I’ve had to work
hard, producing content for my
business is time-consuming and
the staff have helped me juggle
this with my studies. I’m leaving
Seaford with a business that I
will continue to grow and a good
grounding in Media, Music Tech
and Music – these are all skills I will
use in my business in the future.
“My results have exceeded my expectations. I have loved my Science classes with Dr Street and Dr
Richardson, and really enjoyed revising with the other biologists in the Science Work Room. I’ve
been inspired to want to work in the pharmaceutical industry because of witnessing the vaccine
development during the COVID pandemic. I hope to be able to do a placement in Barcelona as part of
my degree course. I’m a sport scholar and loved playing in the first teams. Some of the highlights were
the gym sessions with Mr Rees which were great for relieving stress, and I was often able to sort out any
worries during these sessions too. Mr Green is really personable, and he really cares – I have always been
impressed that he makes the effort to know every single student in the school.
