Recent Updates in Data Analytics
Cognizant acquires Servian, an Australian enterprise
transformation consultancy firm.
Cognizant acquired Servian along with Linium, a
cloud transformation consultancy firm as a part
of its ongoing strategy to increase its
investments in the areas of cloud, AI (artificial
intelligence), data intelligence, etc. This brings the total to 11 acquisitions for $1.4
billion in the last year. Servian specializes in data analytics, artificial intelligence,
digital services and cloud. The acquisition is meant to increase the expansion of
Cognizant into Australia and New Zealand.
Facebook, Columbia University and Georgia Tech develop a
new AI framework called VX2TEXT.
VX2TEXT converts semantic signals from video, audio, text, etc. to
a more common semantic language that is understandable by
humans. The new framework generates text from multimodal
inputs like video, audio and speech and accomplishes its
objectives in a unified and end-to-end trainable framework that
uses modality-specific classifiers. It carries multimodal fusion
through language encoders such as Google T5, which is basically a neural
network model that converts a language problem into a text-to-text format. The
end goal is a much simpler and efficient design with improved performance.
Augmented Data Management.
We can improve and optimize operations using ML and AI
techniques by converting metadata used in auditing, reporting,
etc. to power dynamic systems. Augmented Data Management
can simplify and consolidate architectures as well as increase the
automation in data management tasks. This will encourage data
for real-time analytics. It will also empower new businesses to
easily manage their everyday tasks by encouraging proactive decisions as well
as dispose of the data silos that should in turn reduce the expenses of business
operations.
