R. Alter, Jr. Award for Chapter Excellence, the highest honor to be bestowed
upon a Teta Chi chapter. Tis marks the fourth consecutive year the chapter
has been honored with the award, and is Zeta Beta’s sixth overall.
In addition, Miller was elected to the Grand Chapter, Teta Chi’s
international Board of Directors. He was appointed to the position of
National Chaplain by new National President Richard Elder (Gamma Teta/
San Diego State 1971). Miller has served as co-chair of alumni programming
for the national fraternity and received the George Kilavos Alumni Award in
2010 and David DeVol Service Award this year. He recently completed his
term as chair of the Zeta Beta Housing Corporation on July 1.
“I could not have been more proud to represent all of the brothers of Zeta
Beta,” Beitelschies said. “Winning another Alter Award and getting our own
brother, Doug Miller, elected to the Grand Chapter made for an exceptional
week that truly showed how great of a chapter we are.”
Te brothers had the opportunity to attend a number of breakout sessions
on diferent facets of chapter operations, including recruitment, scholarship,
and social events. Tere were also separate roundtable discussions for active
and alumnus brothers.
Zeta Beta will aim to continue down its successful path in the fall.
