The Other Side
I marvel at technology...
how far it has advanced
and I wonder what our future holds; what is next to be enhanced?
Will we someday tread upon distant faraway grounds venturing above and way beyond our limits and our bounds
to a place where no one living has ever seen or gone, where loved ones’ souls await us as without them, we live on?
What would I do? What would I say if I were still alive
when, and if, that glorious day
should miraculously arrive?
You wouldn’t look the same to me for your death was a rebirth. Gone, the shell that housed your soul when you walked upon the earth.
But, I would sense your presence from this reunion overdue.
No matter how you might appear to me, I know, I’d know, it’s you.
First I’d tell you that I love you in case you left with any doubt and if I could, I’d hug your neck
in an embrace I’ve dreamt about.
