Glimpses
Today, I took a morning walk, navigating around shrubs and trees -- the morning’s sun’s rays beaming down illuminating my path.
I stopped and closed my eyes
to immerse myself in the warm breeze as it swept across my face,
and I listened carefully
while the birds,
scattered
and comfortably perched
on hidden branches
around me
chanted their tender morning melodies to welcome the dawn.
I gazed at the hazy sunbursts wedging themselves through the branches. Then, soaked in a downpour of inner peace,
I looked up to the sky
and felt obliged to
send “up”
a silent thank you
for granting me this “glimpse” of the paradise
that awaits me.
