Transport Safety
Road transport is the key to our business activities. Our road safety philosophy focuses on the areas of risk such as the capability of the driver, condition of
the vehicle, road conditions and local environment. We want to strive to achieve this through:
• An informed culture where the BVO’s understand the hazards and risks involved in their own field of operations so they can identify and overcome
threats of safety.
• A just culture whereby errors are understood, but knowing that wilful violations are not tolerated.
• The Staff know and agree on what are best practices.
• A reporting culture where we encourage the voicing of safety concerns, and when we do so, those concerns are analysed and appropriate action is
taken.
• A learning culture where the BVO’s are encouraged to develop and apply their own skills and knowledge in order to enhance workplace safety. We
therefore update the BVO’s on safety issues and reporting.
