Five-Year Facility Needs Planning
The Long-Range Facilities Planning Committee (LRFPC) formed the New
Construction & Boundaries Subcommittee in order to outline our new facility needs
to accommodate anticipated growth through the 2020-21 school year. This group
analyzed historical enrollment changes, current building capacities, and attendance
boundaries to make recommendations for fiscally responsible enrollment
management solutions. This group evaluated information provided by MetroStudy
and local residential developers to consider all options that will equip CCSD to
effectively accommodate anticipated growth due to new home construction through
the next five years.
Enrollment projections are created utilizing a cohort survival ratio analysis to
develop projections of future enrollment. This analysis utilizes the most recent
five years of historical data to develop ratios that reflect the actual grade-by-
grade change. The LRFPC also employed the national planning and development
organization MetroStudy to assist in the development of projected residential
growth.
MetroStudy provides unparalleled
insight to empower strategic decisions,
