Certification

Ideally, before starting the certification process you should have all your ducks in a row as it
relates to proving you are a legitimate business that’s capable of handling a government
contract. Unfortunately, the sad truth is most small business are operating illegally and have no
idea that they are not in compliance.

Here are 5 very simple questions to ask yourself before proceeding with seeking certification:

1. Can you withstand waiting 90-120 days without being paid on a contract?

2. Are you bondable?

3. How much do you have in reserves?

4. Do you pay yourself a salary?

5. Do you have collateral?

If you are struggling with answering any of the above question, then you are NOT ready to take
the next step of becoming a certified small business………well.. not yet at least.

at all times and are required for you to have in order to get certified.
