Webside Manner

Telemedicine should continue to be a delivery of care that is

patient-centered, intimate, and conveys compassionate care.
Much like bedside manner, it is important to develop “webside

manner” and create an optimal environment to conduct a virtual
medical encounter. It starts with the appearance. You do not

necessarily need to change your usual style for the camera
and overdress. If you usually wear a lab coat or scrubs in the

office, then consider wearing the same for the telemedicine visit.
Wear your ID badge and ensure it is visible. Always convey a

professional appearance and setting.
