GENERIC STRUCTURE OF PROCEDURE TEXT

The structure of procedure texts generally consist of

three parts, namely goal, material needed and methods
or steps. This structure is appropriately applied in a
recipe. In a how-to-text, the materials needed part

sometimes is not applicable.

How to operate a fan
Goal
1. Plug the power cord into a wall outlet. (AC 120 Volts 60
HZ)

2. To make the fann move sideways, push the pin on top of
the motor.
Method of Steps
3. To move the fan up or down, first pull up the oscillating
pin, then press the tilt adjustment knob.

4. To change the speed of the fan, press one of the switches
at the bottom.
