GLOSSARY
Avoid (v) : to prevent something bad from happening
Baking sheet (n) : a small sheet of metal used for baking food on
Bamboo (n) : a tall plant that is a member of the grass
Breed (n) : a particular type of animal or plant
Cage (n) : a space surrounded on all sides by bars or wires, in
which animals or birds are kept
Chop (v) : to cut something into pieces with an axe, knife, or other
sharp instrument
Constantly (adv) : all the time; repeatedly
Cook (v) : to prepare food by heating it, for example by boiling,
baking or frying it
Deep-fry (v) : deep-fry something to cook food in oil that covers it
completely
Dip (v) : to put something into a liquid for a short time
Dough : a mixture of flour, water, etc. that is made into bread
and pastry
Gently (adv) : in a way that is soft and light, not strong, extreme or
violent
Grate (v) : to rub food against a grater in order to cut it into a lot
of small pieces
Hot (adj) : having a high temperature; producing heat
Leopard gecko (n) : Crepuscular ground-dwelling lizard naturally found in
the deserts of Asia and throughout Pakistan, to parts of
northern India.
Make (v) : to create or prepare something by combining materials
or putting parts together
Mix (v) : if two or more substances or things mix or
you mix them, they combine, usually in a way that means
they cannot easily be separated
Mixture (n) : a combination of different things
