The government issued pointers to spread awareness about the pandemic.
Masks became mandatory, social distancing became necessary and
cleanliness was made a priority. In March 2020, two positive cases were
found in Kerala, we had our ICSE Board at that time. We thought that the
spread of the virus would be contained but to our surprise, the nation went
into a lockdown resulting in the postponement and cancellation of events or
examinations.
The first few weeks were uncertain. There was no end to the lockdown and
fake news took over the better of us. Gradually, we became used to staying
at home. Activities announced by our Prime Minister like lightning candles
and ringing bells became events to look forward to. Luckily, the lockdown
became a means to spend some quality time with my family. I attended some
webinars which broadened my horizons. Applications and meetings, which
pre-pandemic weren’t even known, came into the limelight of the world.
Eventually, the cases slowed down. As it is said, necessity is the mother of
inventions, vaccines came into picture. Schools reopened and we came into
the new normal where no masks would imply no entry. Nature healed itself
in the short span of the lockdown. Life is unpredictable but as long as you
know what to do, how to do and what’s right for you, it gets easier and
better.
