Cut window opening and install new window. Cut window opening in an exterior frame wall, frame
a new window opening, install new window (cost of window not included) and patch interior and exterior
surfaces. Based on wall with 1" x 6" drop siding, diagonal 1" x 12" sheathing, 2" x 4" studs 16" on
center, and drywall interior. Assumes a double 2" x 6" header for a 3' opening, double 2" x 8" header for
a 5' opening, double 2" x 10" header for a 6' opening or a double 2" x 12" header for an 8' opening.

Remove and replace wood window. Pry off trim. Remove stops and sash. Loosen siding to expose
jamb. Cut or pull nails securing window to wall framing. Lift out window. Level and install same-size
jamb. Re-install trim. Add the cost of patching and finishing interior and exterior walls.
