About 260 sighthounds from 10 different countries were present, including 6 Sloughis
(and 98! Greyhounds). Registered were 13 Sloughis, no information about the reason for
more than half of the entries not being present. The championship took place in lovely
weather and a friendly and harmonious atmosphere.

1993 First FCI Racing World Championship on snow, St. Moritz, Switzerland, February
27-28, mixed race males/females
12 Sloughis were registered, 9 started, from France, Netherlands and Germany. The track
length was 500 meters. Before the finals, the dogs were presented to the public. The

audience could then bet money on the winner. There was a lot of criticism in the press
about this totalizator. One of the Sloughi races had to be run again because the hare had
fallen off in the third bend. And there was a Sloughi that first did its business along the
way and then cheerfully crossed the finish line.

(The second World Championship on snow was also held in St. Moritz, February 24-25

1996. There were 52 dogs at the start, no Sloughis).
