Year 10
Prerequisites: All students are welcome to enter this subject and those with no previous
knowledge can enter with permission from the teacher in charge.
Content: Students at this level are able to select Spanish for a complete year of study. At the
end of the year’s study, students can cope with a variety of routine situations when talking
to Spanish speakers. Students can describe aspects of their own background and immediate
environment. They can use familiar language with some flexibility and pick up some new
language from its context. They can read and write simple notes and short letters and fill out
simple forms. They are becoming more confident in using a range of language learning
strategies. We will use certain topics to work with the language for example: going
shopping; going on holidays; talking about our town and house etc.
Cost: Contribution to cultural activities.
