TURNSTYLE DESIGNS celebrated 25 years in business last year, and now winning a Queen’s Award for International trade is the icing on the cake for the company’s hardworking staff in the UK and USA.
The company specialises in manufacturing high end door and furniture handles, combining engineering with craftsmanship, including leatherwork, patinating and planishing. The product range is vast, with over 25,000 designs and finishes, all configurable on the company’s website. In addition, Turnstyle Designs also offers a bespoke service, with no minimum order quantity.
Turnstyle exports to over 40 countries, with dealer partners in 21. The USA is
the largest, and export accounts
for over 70% of production.
The Queen’s Award was given for three years of rapid growth; over 17% increase over that period, with overall sales growth at 41%. This, along with a clear strategy for further growth and development, was recognised by the voting panel for the Queen’s Award.

employs 35 staff at its north Devon factory and offices. The company also has a showroom in London’s prestigious Design Centre in Chelsea Harbour, as well as a subsidiary in the US. Turnstyle distributes through three core avenues: a large network of specialist hardware dealers; direct to the superyacht marine industry; and direct OEM including furniture manufacturers.
The business is looking forward
to expanding both factory premises and offices this year. The company has taken on a new export sales manager, who has opened up new dealers
in Germany, Russia, Ireland, Taiwan and Australia, with more expansion planned for the coming year.
