Leica TL2
Hated science at school? It’s a shame
those Bunsen burners weren’t swapped
out for Leica’s new TL2 mirrorless
snapper. Take its maximum electronically
controlled shutter speed of 1/40,000s:
assuming the speed of a miscellaneous
bullet to be 400m/s, you’ll find that the
lethal little piece of metal will travel just
1cm in the time it takes for the 24MP
APS-C sensor to capture its shiny shell.
Which means, provided you can pan faster
than Gordon Ramsay on a panicked
Pancake Day, your snaps will prove highly
popular down at the clay pigeon club. You’ll
get great b-roll too, courtesy of 4K video
at 30fps, alongside HD slow-mo at 120fps.
If this is all getting a bit number-heavy,
take a break to prod the 3.7in LCD
touchscreen, before firing your best
shots over to Instagram via the in-built
Wi-Fi for instant fame.

BACK IN THE
GAME AGAIN
SNES CLASSIC MINI
Nintendo giveth, Nintendo taketh away.
And then Nintendo giveth again. Twice.
First we had the Switch, which turned out
to be not-a-Wii-U-and-actually-quite-
good. Then, like a dollop of grey joy from
the mysterious benefactor in the sky, we
were gifted the SNES Classic Mini. Balm to
the wounds of everyone burnt by being
unable to pre-order last year’s NES Classic
Mini, this little box of joy comes pre-
installed with 20 of the maker’s greatest
hits, alongside the never-before-released
Star Fox II. Provided you can wait until 29
September (and manage to hunt down
stock), you’ll be able to button-mash like
it’s the ’90s with the likes of F-Zero, Super
Mario Kart, Final Fantasy III and The
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
on board. Sure, there are notable
omissions (Chrono Trigger is a glaring
absence), but one session with the
retro box and, chances are, all
will be gleefully forgiven.
