             The discussion focuses on the semester system because it is far more common.
              Pedagogy is the method or practice of teaching, so it defines how
             knowledge is transferred to individuals. The traditional pedagogical
             approach, which is commonly used in undergraduate courses, is lecture-
             discussion, where (1) faculty members explain concepts, models,  pro-
             cesses, and techniques and (2) students ask questions, respond to inquiries
             from faculty, and offer opinions on the topic. As described in Chapter 7,
             changes in pedagogy that provide different methods of learning for differ-
             ent learning styles should improve the quality of education and lower the
             cost of instruction.
              The goals of redesigning curriculum and pedagogy are as follows:

               1. To graduate a higher percentage of students in four years
               2. To prepare students better so employers are more satisfied and job
                  placement rates increase
               3. To educate students at a lower cost so their debt is substantially
                  reduced or eliminated and their access to higher education improves






             10.1  CURRICULUM

             It is not feasible to discuss specific curriculum content for all degree pro-
             grams offered because there are hundreds of them. Plus, no one person or
