STRONG
1BREEZE
I took this picture on a visit
to Bempton Cliffs, Yorkshire,
with my partner and family
in late April. I travel to
the RSPB reserve at least
three times a year as it is a
great place to photograph
seabirds. On our first 2017
trip it was a sunny but
blustery day and there were
thousands of gannets. I was
thrilled to capture this shot
and love the way the wind
has messed up the bird’s
tail feathers. I can’t wait to
return to take more photos.

RUFFLED
2FEATHERS
In the last two years, I have
had great tits nesting in an
old blue tit nestbox in my
garden. After hearing a lot of
noise and seeing the parents
busy foraging, I was delighted
to discover that four chicks
had fledged. I was picking
some salad leaves when I saw
this youngster perched on a
bucket handle. I went back in
the house to grab my camera
and lay down on the lawn to
take this picture.
