Education ecosystem today
Education systems are static or headed in the wrong direction
and we are neglecting our students. Currently little has
changed in education, we are teaching with methods that are
suitable for automotive-, retail consumer-, and computer
industry, educating the industrial revolution and we can’t seem
to realize that is why students are so passive towards our
teaching. We are not preparing them for the digital future.
Learners are not interested or passive towards current content
delivered to them because it is irrelevant to them and their
“world”. The structure and content are also forced/ passed on
and outcomes are predictable. Education practitioners need to
step back and view the system as the reason for passive
behavior and look at the “product” the student, how can the
system accommodate them?
Students gain more experience and knowledge outside of
school when engaging with content on their mobile devices or
computers, therefore school is isolated from the child's
intimate ecosystems, teachers can blend these ecosystems.
Research has shown students participation on social media are
more than we think. They are familiar with the content,
