        THE POSTCARDS
           The postcard set, titled “Sheridan’s Ride,” was published by Commercial Colortype              DELAND
        Company, known to collectors for its “Tour of the World” series. Likely the set was

           The publisher was aiming at the postcard collectors of that long-ago day, as well
        as to all Americans who desired souvenir pictures of historical and patriotic events.
        Another set of postcards, “Paul Revere’s Ride,” played upon a similar theme and was

        shine through. The American Woman was certainly not the only distributor of this set.
        They were only one of the many sources for collectors of the day. The magazine was
