THE POSTCARDS
The postcard set, titled “Sheridan’s Ride,” was published by Commercial Colortype DELAND
Company, known to collectors for its “Tour of the World” series. Likely the set was
published’ sometime around 1908. ANTIQUE SHOPS & MORE
The publisher was aiming at the postcard collectors of that long-ago day, as well
as to all Americans who desired souvenir pictures of historical and patriotic events.
Another set of postcards, “Paul Revere’s Ride,” played upon a similar theme and was
promoted in the same fashion. ANGEVINE’S

Sheridan does not show up on very many other early 20th century postcards. Most 1/2
