Diane to make it match the color of
the cabinet. No one will ever have

6 Chalk painting has even expanded
into kitchen and bath makeovers. Many
Florida homes built starting in the
1990s have MDF cabinets wrapped in
Thermofoil, which is a plastic product
that makes them easy to keep clean, but
7 can look dated.
Instead of buying expensive new
8 wood cabinets, Diane s customers opt
to have her refresh them with chalk
paint for a softer, more custom look
than wood. Diane removes all doors and
hardware, washes them with Dixie Belle
White Lightning, and applies two coats
of paint.
The cabinets are sealed with Gator
Hide, which is a popular Dixie Belle
water-resistant product. Kitchens can
take one to two weeks, while bathrooms
take three to five days. Chalk paint can
even be applied to slick surfaces such
as laminate when a Dixie Belle product
called Slick Stick is applied first, to
provide adhesion.
Meanwhile, the Warehouse has
transformed itself into a vintage
Christmas wonderland, so if nostalgia
takes hold of you at this time of year, be
sure to visit them soon.
