Heart Vases — Good Investments
By Larry LeMasters
LeMasters’ Antique News Service
Pottery has existed since about 6,500
BCE, and the potter’s wheel was invented
around 3,000 BCE, making pottery of
any kind a very old invention of mankind.
Even older than pottery is love, so it is
hardly surprising that some collectors
seek out heart-shaped vases for their
collections. After all, a heart-shaped vase
combines both pottery and love in perfect 1
harmony. Heart-shaped vases have

Another popular line
of heart-shaped vases is
“Bride & Groom” vases.
These were quite popular in the 1950s with most produced in Japan and
imported to America. These vases often portrayed a groom trying to kiss
his bride in front of a heart. Today, these vases make great Valentine’s
Day gifts or anniversary day gifts. Expect to pay over $50 for a good
condition Bride and Groom vase.
Small, heart-shaped porcelain or
pottery vases remain popular
collecting items. Most are over
50 years old, and while semi-
expensive, novice collectors
can afford them.
These vintage vases are
probably safe investments
since love will never go out of
style.
