Message From Mayor Peter Muttart

Dear Fellow Citizens,

As a result of significant consultation - including many doorstep conversations - your Municipal Council is proud to present our three-year
Strategic Plan. We are confident this Plan will advance our Municipality in meaningful ways.

Council has taken the time to develop Vision and Mission statements and establish core values to guide the operations of our Municipality. These
important key statements have been adopted by both Council and Staff and are presented in this document.

From these statements, Council has established five Key Strategic Priorities (KSPs). The KSPs are intended to advance the Municipality and our
communities in a sustainable and balanced manner. They include: are environmental stewardship, strong communities, economic development,
financial sustainability, and governance.

Council has identified several exciting projects to advance these KSPs. We have heard your desire for advancement in sustainable energy
production, install County-wide high-speed internet, work with the Province to improve the condition of cost-shared J-Class roads, and grow the
regional economy through appropriately-located and zoned industrial lots. Implementation of these projects will be guided by business or work
plans that contain key performance indicators. As this Strategic Plan is a living document, Council will carefully track
performance and progress. Should one or more not be met, the Municipality will adjust our approach or identify a
new project that aligns with the related KSP.

As important as a Strategic Plan is, your Council has also identified the need for continual improvement within the
Municipality’s core operations. Examples include: enhanced customer service and records management.

Your Council looks to our future with great anticipation and confidence that together we can achieve great things.
