Finally and long awaited, Laconia, New Hampshire is seeing the beginnings of a revival to what was once a thriving community
of family-owned businesses, shops and attractions that patrons would flock to constantly.
Being one of the hubs of activity in the Lakes Region brought Laconia (and nearby Lakeport) water sport-related traf- fic as well.
But it was the Colonial Theatre, opened in 1914, in the heart of the down town that gathered folks from all around to see a good show and in later years, top movies. The gold gilded ornate stylings of yesteryear had faded into the past as the
