God is good and faithful to me and my family.
Since the start of ECQ, Cathy
and I have been worried
about the situation
considering that both of us,
are front-liners. We are with
the Philippine National
Police. We are of the same
rank. We are required to
report for work every day. After work, we come home.
Our worries worsened when one of my officemates had a fever and was advised by the PNP Regional Health Service to undergo isolation on June 8, 2020. From the time I learned that he will be isolated, Cathy and I decided that I will also isolate myself from her and our children. I slept and dined separately from them.
The night of Wednesday, June 17, 2020, our anxiety grew more when I read in our group chat that my officemate who was on isolation was about to be transported to the hospital because he was already too weak and could hardly stand. My anxiety shoot up when I learned that he was to be intubated because he had difficulty in breathing. Later I learned from our group chat that he already passed away.
Cathy and I could not even talk about it to our children. We were so scared! We were not sure thou that his death was caused by Covid 19 since my officemate was still waiting for the result of his swab test when he passed away.
For the sake of our children, we decided to undergo the Rapid Antibody Test. Again, we were scared but we were comforted with the letters from our children saying how thankful they are, that we are their parents. They reminded us that we should not worry for God knows everything and He will grant our petition. Finally, we got the results. Cathy and I are negative of the frightening virus. Praise the Lord for his goodness!
The Lord never ceases to amaze us with his grace, mercy and love. HE is always steadfast in his promises as in Philippians 4:6-7
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayers and petition with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
