ENDURANCE AND RESILIENCE THROUGH FAITH:
UPDATES OUR STORIES
Bryan and I got married on January 25, 2007. Making our marriage work, and learning to be good parents, was very difficult without the guidance of parents. God sent us mentors through BCBP. With their help, we have been able to stick together and raise our three
children.
We joined BCBP in 2016. We have been assigned to an Action Group with many elders (we’re the youngest couple in the group). Our fellow action group members have played a great part in our spiritual journey.
Before we joined BCBP, our routine was work, then back to our home. We only went out for leisure when time permitted. There was a time when our marriage was tested. We fought frequently, which only added to our stress. It was then that a very good friend of ours invited us to this community. When we joined BCBP, we felt that we belonged. My husband and I always looked forward to the next meetings.
This verse took on a meaning for me:
"Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart. "(Psalm 37:4)
God really knows what our heart desires. We are so grateful to Him. Even if we are financially unstable, He did not forsake us. He blessed us with a house helper who is more like
a mother to me and Bryan, and a grandmother to our children. God answers our prayers, “maski usahay dugay”, but He will, in His Time.
Our third child was born last October 29, 2019. I was able to enjoy a longer maternity leave but had to go back to work last February. I felt sad because it meant I had to stop breastfeeding my baby. I prayed for a longer leave so I could take care of my baby. And my prayer was answered! After just a little over a month, the ECQ was enforced.
I am happy that I am with my baby most of the time. But it is no work, no pay for me. We are thankful that my husband Bryan, after three weeks in the quarantine, was able to go back to work.
I needed to find ways to have extra income for our children. So I decided to keep myself productive through online selling on social media. I praise God for good sales. We are so grateful that despite the challenges we encountered in this pandemic, He blessed us with good health, protection, guidance, and food on our table.
When problems come our way, we just take it positively. We know everything happens for a reason. It may be stormy now, but it never rains forever.
This too shall pass. To God be the Glory.
THIS TOO SHALL PASS
