 FROM OUR CHAPTER HEAD
 My dearest Kuyas and Ates,
We are living this quarantined life for almost 5 months already, and the sad part is that we don’t even know when it will end. Many have lost
their jobs, businesses, and properties even have to be sold in order to survive or simply to stay afloat. We hear news of somebody, a friend or a relative, who is sick or have died. We want to offer our sympathies but we cannot even go and visit them in the hospitals nor in their wakes as the case may be. This is really a saddening event.
Call me a hopeful optimist because I am always searching for the positive side of all these things that are happening. I realized that there are so many priceless moments we can actually enjoy even in the midst of pandemic. Foremost is our precious family bonding. We have also accomplished a lot of NEW things. I see pictures through Facebook of “Master Chefs in the making”, carpenters doing DIY projects, painters, farmers and gardeners. But always, it is a case to case basis. I don’t want to be comparing situations nor base my opinions on others’ predicament. I prefer counting my own blessings; I make it personal. I have this belief that there will always be somebody who is better or worse than myself. I will leave the details in my personal sharing some other time.
The sharing of Mr. Reynolds and Mrs. Minerva Dorado during the Regional Breakfast last July 18, 2020 gave me many realizations. I have heard their story before; in fact, I have joined the workshop twice. However, during their online sharing, that was the first time I heard them say,
“God, why did you allow this to happen?”
If my memory serves me right, I heard that line four times. This question is most apt in the current situation. Gladly, the answer to the question was quoted in the sharing as well, “THY WILL BE DONE.”
Yes! Everything happens for a reason. God allows things to happen;
His plans are greater than ours; He never forsakes us as He is a forgiving and loving God.
This now, leads me to my realization, “Why
don’t we just allow God to do His plans then?”
God listens to our prayers; our prayers are His weaknesses. God makes miracles.
trust Him and understand
the reasons why these
things are happening. So, we continue to petition to Him. Let us come to realize that the most comforting way to end a prayer is by saying
“LORD, THY WILL BE DONE.”
