                                 Cultural pride runs deep in Louisiana’s Cajun prairie land, with some of the oldest European settlements and
                                 Native American tribes. From the field to the table, the passion is celebrated with every meal.

                                 Kick up your heels at the many dance halls and music clubs in St. Landry Parish. Cajun music is celebrated
                                 Saturdays in Eunice in a Grand Ole Opry-style broadcast from the historic Liberty Theater or a jam session
                                 at Savoy Music Center, an accordion factory where admission is beer, boudin or an ability to tap your
                                 feet. Enjoy fine dining in a casual historic atmosphere while overlooking Bayou Courtableau at Steamboat
                                 Warehouse Restaurant in Washington.

                                 Of course, no road trip is complete without a stop at Billy’s Boudin & Cracklin in Opelousas. Billy’s is known
                                 for their different types of boudin, including crawfish and boudin balls stuffed with pepper jack cheese.

                                 Travel through Acadia Parish and get a taste of the importance of agriculture to Louisiana. Visit Kelly’s
                                 Landing Agricultural Museum to step back in history and view the antique farm equipment and a fun
                                 collection of farm-themed toys.


                                 The International Rice Festival in Crowley is known far and wide for good times and great food. Attendees
                                 can expect a little bit of everything, including arts, crafts, music and a parade, all in celebration of the annual
                                 rice harvest.

                                 Rayne is famously known as the Frog Capital of the World, so you will not want to miss out on the fried frog
                                 leg platter at Chef Roy’s Frog City Café.

                                 Several towns throughout the parishes in this region celebrate Mardi Gras season with the traditional
                                 Cajun-French “Courir de Mardi Gras,” where revelers go from house to house singing and dancing to
                                 “beg” for ingredients for a communal gumbo to be served later that evening.

                                 Down the road in Avoyelles Parish, Broken Wheel Brewery is serving up the perfect combination
                                 of home cooked Cajun favorites and delicious hand crafted beers. Menu favorites include the shrimp &
                                 crab stuffed avocado and the redfish picatta. Legends Steakhouse at Paragon Casino Resort is another
                                 great stop and perfect for celebrating any special occassion.
