IAAF family.
• Ensure set up of the Stadium, Media tribune, event presentation,
Champions Lounge, corporate suites, Public village, warm up areas
and VIP holding rooms; club and lounge.
• Supervise accommodation process for athletes, technical IAAF
staff , Media and IAAF family and VIP’s.
• Set up accreditation centers at the athlete’s village Kasarani stadium
(Indoor arena) and Windsor.
• Provide signage for the IAAF Championships event.
• Supervise provision of entertainment at the Stadium and athletes
village.

• Manage the legacy project in conjunction with the Green Belt move-
ment.
• Manage transport logistics for athletes, offi cials and VIPs
• From the airport to their respective hotels
• From the hotel to the Stadium
• Provide transport during tours for the athletes and offi cials
• Develop an opening and closing ceremony theme, conceptualize
and execute their production

Welcome Dinner
is year, the championship began with a welcome dinner held
on 11th July 2017 at Windsor Golf and country club. e purpose of
the event was to welcome all IAAF Family and Offi cials to Kenya,
Nairobi.

Among the 300 distinguished guests who enjoyed a spectacu
evening were Her Excellency, the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta

who was the chief guest, IAAF President Lord Sebastian Coe,
Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Sports, Culture and the Arts Dr
Hassan Wario Arero, Principal Secretary, Ministry of Sports,
Culture and the Arts Amb. Kirimi P. Kaberia, President, Athletics
Kenya, Athletics Kenya Lt. Gen (Rtd) Jackson Tuwei, LOC CEO
Mwangi Muthee, Kenyan Star Athletes, and many more.
e dinner began at 8.30 pm EAT with a call to order by the
event’s Master of Ceremony. Having observed all protocols ,Key
Speeches were made by IAAF President Lord Sebastian Coe and Her
Excellency the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta. e IAAF President
Lord Sebastian Cole presented Her Excellency Margaret Kenyatta
with a gratitude plaque in recognition of her role as the cham-
pionship’s patron. After the presentations, guests were treated
to a delicious buff et of Kenyan cuisine and later entertained by
performances from Kayamba Africa, Cultural Dancers and Xpose
Dj. is gave an opportunity for guests to network and dance for
