Grami helped Aimi crawl up onto the gurney. “It feels just like the gurney in the hospital’s emergency room,” said Aimi. They didn’t have to wait long.
“Hello, everyone,” said the orthopedic surgeon with ebony skin and big black eyes, as she walked into the room. “How is the girl with the new pink cast?”
“I’m fine,” said Aimi. “Will you sign my new pink cast today? You promised to sign it when I came to your office for a visit.”
“I’ll be glad to sign your new pink cast,” said Dr. Stafford, smiling. “I’m careful what I promise and then I keep my promises. Let me have a look at it first, however, just to make sure the cast has no problems.”
