Three—Jungle-Gym Catastrophe
“Dr. Stafford,” said Aimi, “the skin under my new pink cast itches. I want to scratch it.”
“That sometimes happens,” replied the orthopedic surgeon. “It means that your arm is healing. You must avoid trying to scratch it, however. Never ever stick anything down your cast. It might tear your skin and start an infection.”
“Oh,” said Aimi. “But what about the itch?”
“You can blow into the end of your cast, and you can think about something else,” said Dr. Stafford.
“Like riding on a giraffe,” said Aimi. Everyone laughed.
