“I know,” said Aimi. “Connor’s name has six letters. Grami says they can come with us to pick up my portrait.”
“Who can come with you?” asked DJ. “The six letters?”
“No,” said Aimi, laughing again. “You are a funny man. Tad and Toni and Conner want to meet a real live artist. So they’re coming with us to pick up my portrait.”
“Good. I’ll look forward to meeting them,” said DJ. “And so will Solly. He likes to meet new people.”
Aimi looked at Solly on the jungle gym. The chimpanzee was hanging by one arm. Again. “Solly’s arms look longer than his legs,” said Aimi.
