Try to picture this… 7 new patients, 53 cavities, 40 fillings, 11 extractions, 2
root canals, 2 crowns, 7 lives changed. Those numbers represent one day at
the CVHN Dental Clinic in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. When CVHN’s own Dr. Kerri
Hansen shared this story with our board in October 2017, I was deeply
affected. On one side I felt for these children in need and their new angel of
a foster mother, on the other I felt grateful that CVHN could provide them
much needed care and services.
Day after day, the staff at the Dental Clinic and on the Mobile Dental Clinic
works tirelessly taking care of children who otherwise might never see a
dental chair. These young boys and girls walk in a little timid and emerge
with smiles. Day after day.
I’m honored to serve as Board Chair for such an impactful organization. 94
cents of every dollar raised goes to the mission of seeking to improve the
health and well-being of children in need. What started out as a small group
of concerned church parishioners trying to improve the quality of life for a
young boy has blossomed into an organization helping thousands of children
across Walton and Okaloosa Counties. Since helping that first young boy in
2005, CVHN has been able to directly impact the lives of 18,234 children

through 79,483 dental and medical procedures totaling $5,861,309 in free

services. None of this would be able to happen without the generosity of
our donors, medical providers, volunteers and dedicated staff.
The success of our Dental Clinic and Mobile Dental Clinic sometimes over-
shadows our Health Care Referral Program. In 2017 we saw an increase in
Vision and other Medical needs. In 2018, we want to grow awareness that
CVHN stands tall as a health network for any child in Okaloosa and Walton
County. Our vision is for all of God’s children to be healthy, happy, and see
their future as limitless.
Thanks to all of our supporters who believed in us 2017. For all those
learning about CVHN for the first time, please join us in 2018.
