let me down. It was a bit of an investment because it boasts a high powered motor, however, it saves you a lot of grief and energy, and in the long run will far outlast its competition.
Balancing Taste and Nutrition...
A smile travels across my face as I recall the fist time I convinced my husband to invest in a juicer and continue the juicing regime I had started him on. At the time we were not yet married and I had to go back home. It would be several months before I could return. Let’s just say that his first attempts at juicing were less than successful. Oh yes, he managed to encapsulate all that nutrition in a glass, however it was a bitter, disgusting offense to the taste buds. It was the first time I would witness the drama queen emerge out of that seemingly quiet, laid back soul. It is important that you maintain a good balance of fruit and vegetables to get all of the nutrition a body needs, and at the same time make it palatable. On the following pages, you will find recommendations and recipe’s that
offer this balance, as well as a good variety of vitamins and minerals and alternatives that work well for juicing. Remember, these are just guidelines and can be adjusted to suit your personal taste and dietary needs.
Maintaining Your Juicer...
Long term juicing can feel like a real commitment if you do not simplify the process, and develop some good habits. One of the biggest complaints about juicing is clean up. To simplify the process, I line the container that captures all of the refuse with a bread bag, grocery bag, or thin freezer bag. Then all I have to do is remove the bag and transfer it to the garbage can. I then immediately rinse off the other components and replace them and the bag. Sometimes I don’t even bother to dry them, because quite honestly they air dry fairly quickly. Other times I will leave them on a towel I have laid out and let them air dry before assembling the juicer. If you clean your juicer immediately after you do the juice, all the fibre will rinse off very easy, but if you leave it for a time, it will become a nightmare to clean. You will have to soak it in
