Chapter 8

                                   The cloud and security.

Can the cloud become a storm?

IS SECURITY A TRUE CLOUD INHIBITOR?

                  These cloud services can be
                  offered in private cloud, making
public or Hebrides. In any case,
in all of them, the security
                  implications make that, as in
                  traditional models, special
                  attention must be made. Special
                  because the cloud offers access
                  to information, software and
services at a lower cost and also
through a wide range of devices,
                  from PC to Smartphones.

Traditionally, the information was stored in
large physical files occupying large spaces
with a person in charge of them. Today,
most data is stored on servers outside the
immediate physical control of the user and
shared in the organization through multiple
                                                      sources such as e-mail, collaborative
                                                      websites, or social networking.
