107 N. Court Street in Florence, Alabama is the
home to Ricatoni’s restaurant.
It’s the 1996 culinary creation
of Rick Elliot, aka Ricatoni
Valentino. The atmosphere is
welcoming to locals and vis-
itors, everyone feels like they
have arrived at their favorite Italian Uncle’s house. Lots of great food and fun await.
Rick has filled the menu with Italian favorites like Bruschette Ricatoni, various pizzas with great toppings, and Italian classics like eggplant paramsean. The menu does contain the not so Italian fare like wings and burgers for those who are of the picky eater variety.
Each meal starts with nice crusty Italian bread with a side of olive oil and herbs. It gives you a chance to munch and peruse
the menu.
On our visit for dinner, I chose the Italian Club. The fresh oven baked bread melted in my mouth with each bite. The combo of deli ham, genoa salami, delicious olive-pepper relish, vinegrette and provolone cheese were layered to perfection. My tastebuds danced with each bite and savored the flavors of each layer.
Jenni selected one of her favorites, eggplant parmasean. She enjoyed the freshness of the pomodoro sauce that covered the two fried, thickly sliced eggplant circles. They served it with a fresh
house salad and a side of fettucini alfredo. Jenni said she would’ve preferred some spaghetti with more of that delicious pomodoro sauce.
That substitution could be made by asking your server.
Once you’ve finished your satisfying meal, Ricatoni’s has a menu of deliciously tempting desserts. It has some Italian favorites like
canolis, Tiramisu, and Italian cheesecake. We enjoyed our meal so much that we forgot to save room for anything sweet. Don’t make the same mistake. Or, maybe take a dessert or two to-go.
If you’re in Florence looking for an Italian fix, Ricatoni’s is a great local spot to fill that void.
