When we travel, we try to
avoid chain restaurants. We like to find the places with delicious food and an atmosphere that makes you feel like one of the locals. Let me tell you... we hit the jackpot of
all things amazing when we walked into The Pie
Factory in downtown Florence.
At The Pie Factory they boast
New York style
pizza, but we’ve heard that one before. We’ve gone
to many pizza joints with the NYC claim to fame, but we’re often disappointed with greasy, topping heavy pizzas. So we were skeptical, but can now say with confidence that The Pie Factory has it. True New
York style pizza. The crust has a balanced flavor that doesn’t overpower the toppings. The slices are big but perfectly foldable. No sog. No breakage. Flawless.
They have so many topping choices, so we had to go for a half-and-half experience. On one side we had the Muscle Shoals Sound. It’s a tomato sauce base with extra pepperoni and hot sauce. On the other side we had the Hawaiian Luau: tomato
sauce, capicola, grilled pineapple, and jalapeños. Both of these pizzas were incredible, and they don’t
even scratch the surface of the options The Pie Factory offers. You can order custom pizza bases like tomato sauce, BBQ, olive
oil, and ranch. We’ll definitely be going back totryafew
more.
Besides pizza,
they have some of the best wings. They’re grilled, which I think brings out those perfect wing fla- vors. That paired with their sweet and spicy sauce is perfection. Their great downtown location and incredible food makes The Pie Factory a great stop for families, couples, and anyone visiting Florence or The Shoals.
