o trip to Sevierville or Pigeon Forge is complete without a visit to the Old Mill. I guess you could consider it as a must-visit “attraction” but it’s much more
than that. You
get to learn history about how the Old Grist Mill was the founda-
tion of the now bustling area known as Pigeon Forge.
The Old Mill also offers the opportunity to do
two of my favorite things: shop and eat. We suggest you schedule your visit to shop, eat, shop, and eat again. But that’s just a suggestion from your resident foodies and travel shopaholics.
When you’re ready
for that foodie experience, The Old Mill offers two full-service restaurants. The Old Mill Restaurant sits right next to the river, so many seats provide a river view.
At the Old Mill Restaurant you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Each of the meals are served family-style with classic Southern entrees and sides. The restaurant allows for a great family meal where you enjoy the food and the memories. Just be aware that the average wait time at any meal is 30-60 minutes. But for many, it’s worth the wait.
If you’re looking for a shorter wait time, a more light- and-airy vibe and food selection, then head across the street
to the Pottery House Cafe. They offer lunch and dinner daily plus brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Their menu contains sandwiches, fresh salads, and mouth watering entrees like their hand breaded chicken tenders.
Many of the doors around The Old Mill are original to the property. Make sure you ask why some doors have a squeak or nails everywhere. Those stories and
others are what you’ll learn about the mill and surrounding
buildings.
When you’re ready for something sweet they have an ice cream shop serving up hand-churned deliciousness. If you’re sweet tooth isn’t satisfied by the classic creamery, The Old Mill also has a Candy Kitchen with every kind of candy and sweet you can imagine. The kids and confection connoisseurs in your group will enjoy the opportunity to watch their candy makers create some tantilizing creations.
