begin to shackle and overpower the person and it becomes impossible for him to possess them in the true sense. But in the state of true meekness, the soul reaches out to God alone. It is not tied to the objects through the strings of desires. Therefore, it recovers its mastery over the earth. It rules matter; it commands circumstances; and it acquires a supreme victory that echoes with an immeasurable sense of inner triumph.
Spiritual movement is a heroic movement, and one who has attained spiritual Realization is like a mighty king. Lord Jesus was so feared by the rulers of His time because He was said to be a “king.” In fearing worldly competition, they did not realize that He was not the king of this earth, but the ruler of the promised land of Divine Consciousness. Like the blessed meek of this Beatitude, Jesus had inherited the earth. He had triumphed over the world of time and space and become the emperor of emperors through the miracle of Divine Communion.
IV. Blessed are they that do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be lled.
The path of righteousness is one that all religions of the world hold in high esteem, as it is the pathway to the Kingdom of Enlightenment. Turning through the pages of history, Christ stands as one of the
