but they are unable to offer the most charitable gifts of life—a cheerful face encouraging the goodness in others, a humble spirit that glori es God in others, and a willing hand that is ready to perform an act of kindness whenever needed. Materially, these things are worth very little, but they are invaluable aids towards the accumulation of the priceless treasure of dharma.
Do not delight in revenging upon anyone, even if they are your worst enemy. See the triumph of nonviolence over violence, love over hate. Never compel a person to be good. Learn the art of bringing out the goodness in others through patient persuasion and service.
Practice concentration and meditation in your daily life. Commence your day by meditating on the Divine Self or on any inspirational object of your choice. As time passes, you will discover the deepest secrets of life. Rather than focusing on the defects of your personality, enhance your positive qualities and allow them to prosper. As you evolve spiritually, many negative qualities will be transformed into positive ones. You will begin to discover that you are essentially the Divine Self.
