impress upon the minds of young children the grandeur of a righteous mind as the most important achievement in life. If this were done, they would grow up with the zeal of becoming enlightened Sages. They would not become personalities who act like puppets to the pleasures of the senses and become involved in manifold expressions of unrighteousness. This is the great task before our leaders—the task of presenting spiritual values of life as the foundation of educational systems all over the world.
May all people endeavor to cultivate the glorious qualities of truthfulness, pure love for humanity, humility, compassion towards all living beings, sincerity, absence of anger and hatred, nonviolence, forbearance, purity, non-covetousness, gentleness, discrimination, dispassion, and surrender to God. These are the qualities described by Lord Krishna as daivi sampat, or Divine wealth (Bhagavad Gita 16:1-2). Likewise, may all endeavor to eradicate the demoniac qualities of hatred, violence, hypocricy, arrogance, anger, pride, greed, indiscriminate passion, deception, treachery, and all other crude expressions of the lower self, which are called asuri sampat, or demoniac wealth (Bhagavad Gita 16: 10-12).
