Sincere effort will give rise to compassion, which will emanate like fragrance from your blossoming heart. This fragrance of compassion will accelerate your path to Enlightenment and unity with God.
Lord Buddha and Lord Jesus are sublime embodiments of compassion. They lived only to relieve human beings of their deep-rooted maladies. Their acts of compassion and mercy belong not just to the period of time in which they existed, but to all humanity at all times.
Recall the powerful story of how Lord Jesus once encountered a lady surrounded by an angry crowd, judging her harshly for her sins:
They said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. Now, in the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women.
