the monkey had to tell him, but suddenly the lifeless body of the monkey fell at his feet.
Narada’s heart sunk. Again he returned and waited for an occasion to meet Lord Vishnu. After Lord Vishnu heard his story, he said, “Oh Narada, go to a certain country where a prince was recently born to the royal family. There ask that newborn child to describe to you the glorious qualities of satsanga.” Narada was quite worried. It was bad enough when the little creatures of the forest died, but it would be terrible if the prince were to pass on when Narada asked him about satsanga. However, Narada, trusting Lord Vishnu, followed his instructions. Upon reaching the palace, the king was very pleased to see Narada and asked him to confer his blessings on the newborn child. Narada said that this was the purpose of his visit, but asked to be alone with the child. The king agreed.
Finding the newborn prince by himself, Narada approached the child and told him with a trembling heart that Lord Vishnu had sent him to learn about the glory of satsanga. The child’s eyes focused and his body became still. Narada’s heart nearly stopped. Suddenly, the child began to speak: “Oh Narada, don’t you realize that it was by your satsanga that the squirrel left its embodiment to become a monkey and then left its monkey embodiment to become a prince?
