he simile of Light is a predominant feature in Upanishadic literature, the literature of the Vedas. “Jyotisham api tad jyotih”—“You are
the Light of lights.” Light is that which illuminates. Your senses have an important role in illuminating the world. If you did not have the senses, you would not be able to perceive the world. It is only through the senses that you become aware of a world where you can see, hear, touch, taste, and smell.
