24 Mystic pathways through the bible
The six planes are also associated with the six centers in the Sushumna, the mystic channel associated with the spinal column in Kundalini Yoga. These centers are known as the Swadhishthana, Muladhara, Manipura, Anahata, Vishuddhi, and Sahasrara Chakras. When these six centers of the Sushumna and the six planes of the world are transcended, there arises a Sabbath—a complete termination of activity. Where activity exists, there is duality, and duality coexists with the planes of matter. When matter is transcended, one enjoys the absolute inactivity of the Spirit.
The effort to transcend the six planes, to transcend the world of duality, must be made by every spiritual aspirant. Keeping the Sabbath holy implies re ecting upon transcendence and attempting to practice it every day in whatever way possible.
Understanding Divine Transcendence
When Lord Jesus healed on the Sabbath rather than on an ordinary day, he was demonstrating the signi cance of viewing the Sabbath more on a level of consciousness than as a speci c day of the week. It is more important to understand the profound mystical concept of Divine transcendence than to merely pursue the literal human concept of rest. The idea that God created the world, became exhausted and then rested is a projection of the human mind.
