need polarizes itself into the form of male and female personalities. In the course of the soul’s repeated incarnations, females have not been females in each lifetime, and males have not always been males. Their souls have assumed different personalities—a male in some lifetimes and a female in other incarnations.
The mind, with its need for the ful llment of both reason and emotion, evolved the physical body. When the need for emotion is highlighted in a particular embodiment, the spirit chooses to operate through a female personality. When the need for reason is emphasized, a male personality manifests. This, however, is from a generalized point of view. There are many exceptions to this rule.
Depending upon how they identify with their biological structures as well as their sexual identity, males and females consider themselves to be imperfect and incomplete without another. Drawn by a powerful magnetic force that they do not understand, they begin to relate to each other in diverse ways. If that force is properly understood, it will lead to the practice of brahmacharya, and a higher form of relationship will begin to unfold. If that force is not properly understood, one is simply captured by the instinctive demands for biological procreation and passion.
