graduate beyond the need for biological creativity. When you compare the mind in these two states, you begin to understand the sweetness and grandeur that arise due to mental expansion. This higher form of joy permeates the mind and heart of the individual. As a result, the inclination towards sexual pleasures is automatically fulfilled by the genuine sublimity of exalted consciousness. This is what is referred to as sex-sublimation or brahmacharya in Yogic terminology.
Fidelity and the Purpose of Marriage
Fidelity is not as simple as just being married and abstaining from sexual relations with anyone other than your spouse. A couple may stay together without any outward in delity, yet, since a higher love has not dawned, they will always feel insecure about their relationship. Their love is simply a matter of attachment and entanglement, and in most cases, will eventually fade. Fidelity, then, is not merely external in a relationship. It implies that those who love one another are faithful to each other within their souls. It implies that they strive to serve God within their partner and to acquire a profoundly mature understanding of what love really is.
One who practices brahmacharya understands that any genuine loving relationship cannot continue to exist if its sole purpose is pleasure. Love between partners is fraudulent if it depends entirely upon a
